Resources + Recommendations

Over the years, I have discovered helpful study tools and several preferred products. Here are a few recommendations:

Bible Study Resources:

Blue Letter Bible is my favorite Bible Study website and app. It is free and FULL of incredible tools! For example:

  1. You can read 2 versions side by side for clarity.

  2. You can ‘click’ on any verse to access an entire library of dictionaries, concordances, and commentaries.

  3. One of my favorite resources within the Blue Letter Bible app is the Matthew Henry Commentaries. They can be accessed by clicking on a verse, then selecting ‘Text Commentaries,’ and finally selecting a ‘Matthew Henry Commentary’ for the particular chapter you are studying. His writing is very old fashioned, but can be ‘mined’ for some incredible jewels.

I use this app almost daily, and so often, it is in searching out the deep things of Scripture and the original language that I am most deeply ministered to.

You can find it at: https://www.blueletterbible.org/ or in the App Store: Blue Letter Bible

In addition to Blue Letter Bible, I enjoy listening to the Daily Audio Bible.

You can find it here: https://dailyaudiobible.com/ or in the App Store: Daily Audio Bible

Favorite Bible recommendations:

I have only had two Bibles in my adult life. I am a firm believer in loving a Bible until it is worn out. Your Bible will become your best friend—buy a good one! My most recent Bible (which was retired recently) and my current Bible are by Cambridge Bibles, who make GORGEOUS Bibles. (Current Bible can be found here.) Cambridge Bibles are painstakingly crafted and are of heirloom quality. These are the types of Bibles that can be passed on to future generations.

If you prefer New Living Translation, this is a beautiful option.

There are many beautiful Bibles available, and whichever you choose, make it YOURS!

Favorite Journal recommendations:

My absolute favorite journals of all time are Eccolo World Traveler 8x10 journals. They have a sturdy cover with a leather-like look and feel. There are some amazing styles and they HOLD UP LIKE IRON!

There are a few options here or simply search ‘Eccolo World Traveler 8x10 journals’ on Amazon.

Most of them are a little on the girly side, but there are a few masculine options, as well, including this plain black version. Occasionally, you can find them at Target, TJMaxx, Homegoods, or Marshall’s.

If you prefer a spiral bound notebook, Kate Spade’s large notebook is a close second on my list, with Bando’s large spiral notebooks falling next in line.

Favorite pen recommendations:

A good pen is a very important part of the journaling and Bible reading experience:

  • My favorites are these amazing pens, the Pilot P-500. They have a very fine tip and an incredibly smooth ink flow. Perfect for getting your heart on a page!

  • Tul Pens are also at the top of my list, and can be purchased here.

  • If you prefer colored pens, the Micron 005 or Marvy Uchida LePen are a great choice.

These are just a few suggestions, as I’ve been asked before. I’d love to hear yours!
